Z&W came out in a time where the Wii needed more games that justified its unique (at the time) motion control and pointing nature. I know because I was one of those desperate gamers that rushed to get this on day one just because I was craving to play something new on the system.

This was a great game to showcase these abilities due to its point-and-click gameplay coupled with puzzle-solving segments that involved use of motion control for different actions. Just like with any other Wii game, the motion controls are all over the board with some segments having clever and good uses while others were spotty and simply annoying.

Puzzles and level design for the most part were good with a decent amount of rewarding puzzles in each level. A hint system was in place if you ran into too much trouble as well as platinum tickets to rescue your character. The good puzzle an level design coupled with an interesting cartoonish and colorful art direction made this a pleasant experience.

Disclaimer: I never managed to beat the game but I was in the final levels and enough hours put in to provide a review.

I have this game but I never played. Good to see a good review about it. Maybe I will give it a chance. =)
