Call of Duty: Black Ops II is probably the magnum opus of the entire Call of Duty series to this day. While the Multiplayer is more of the nice combat balance and map design of the last two Treyarch games, the zombies and campaign took massive steps forward for the franchise. The pulp conspiracy nature of the Black Ops series goes full balls to the walls in the new campaign, leading to a campaign where you hunt the truth of the past and decide the ultimate fate of the near future United States. While it may not hit the same highs as WaW or BO1, the zombies soars into new heights with much more experimental maps, culminating in new mechanical density and even more crazy storytelling. I firmly believe to this day that Black Ops II is where the series peaked.
Need for Speed: Underground was the biggest shift in direction for the series at the time. Bye bye yellow Lambos and dad rock, and hello Lil John and ricer culture. Its a cute little game to go back to, but the act of beating it is a herculean task. Godspeed to anyone else who wants to beat this game.
