Just play it. Don't be afraid of "old controls" or "old graphics" or even the difficulty because this is an incredible game and style that has been lost to the ages.

Look up a guide for specific quests you find troubling and save often. The pop culture references in certain spots can be jarring or fly over your head, but the storytelling and world is great. Just play it.
