I really wanna like this game, but I just can't. Alpha Centauri did the sci-fi setting better, and Civ 5 does the hex grid civ formula better, so BE kinda sits in this odd space where it's not objectively bad, but just struggles to justify its existence.
The game also doesn't really present you with interesting dilemmas like civ 5 or AC does, and instead, almost all the decisions the game throws at you always have an objectively best choice for every playstyle, so it ends up feeling samey and bland.

No rating cuz it's not for me. Mostly just played it with my brother in law but hooooly crap do I suck at this game lol

It doesn't suck, per se, but like, it's just not as fun as the original and it also doesn't do anything new so it feels pretty pointless.

Game has a really cool idea, and the way time travel is handled is super interesting and well done.
Too bad the actual RTS this idea is built on sucks :/

I got this game for free at a book fair when I was a kid and I still hated it. Worst RTS I ever played.

Unless you play the campaign co-op with 4 people, it really sucks. In all the firefights you're constantly playing babysitter to a bunch of spartans with no self preservation instinct. It's like a crappy mashup of Halo 4 and Republic Commando, with none of the good features of either, and all the annoyances of both.
Forge is cool tho, too bad no one plays this game to do custom games with.

Ends on a cliffhanger without a satisfying narrative conclusion.
Everything else about the game is fantastic and sometimes I wonder if it's better than the original game even.
Daresay, the Palisade Bank level is even better than VersaLife.
Unskippable tutorial in dubai sucks tho ngl

Extremely good game with a fresh take on the setting. The aesthetic does seem a bit too futuristic at times though, especially since it takes place a few decades before the original game. Would be 5 stars but the final act kinda falls flat with stealth going out the window and the ending fails to live up to the prior games. No specifics, but, lets just say that it makes Mass Effect 3's ending look good.

It's definitely not as good as the first game, especially when it comes to gameplay alone, but some of the new tools and guns are interesting and fun (except the boltcaster, absolute useless weapon). Yeah it's got small levels, wonky physics, and dumb AI, but the story is on point and continues with the logical conclusions and extremes of the ideologies of the first game.
Sue me, I like it.

Best immersive sim ever made, Warren Specter is a god.
Strongly recommend playing with the Shifter mod though, or even Biomod. Helps a lot with quality of life features.

The cactuses drove dinos extinct, not asteroids

Played it a bit and its not for me. Extremely repetitive and gets boring fast.

I don't think I'll ever stop playing minecraft tbh. Would rate it higher but I'm still kinda annoyed by phantoms and the abysmal performance of Java edition on PC. I would switch to Bedrock but it doesn't have hardcore mode.
