X4 is a great step in the right direction for the series. The new 32-bit graphics look great, the controls have been tweaked and refined in a great way, and the addition of an additional playable character really fleshes out the game. The game was the right length where two entire playthroughs was no problem whatsoever.

I will say I didn't use most of X's special weapons outside of bosses, but Zero's special moves were neat and really added to his gameplay style.

The dub is infamously terrible, but that's great for memes. The story isn't too amazing either, but the future plot it's setting up is interesting enough I guess.

Overall this is good game. I think X1 has the edge over this still, but this game isn't bad by any means.
