New Super Mario Bros. Wii is not going to blow your mind, but it will tickle it. It is full of aberrations. The constant novelty is more than enough to make up for its lack of difficulty. If you're looking for a platforming challenge, (besides a few levels) this is not that kind of game. Most of the challenge this game offers is finding the three star coins within each level and even that (besides a couple of them) is not very hard. The number of actual secrets in the game is slightly underwhelming. Level 7-6 is a real outlier in that regard. As per Mario tradition, this fantasy plumber feels good to control with the caveat that I was playing with a Xbox 360 pad and had a button to activate the shake motion input. I did not get a chance to play with others recently, but I remember doing it when the game first came out. It was pure chaos. Accidentally toadstooling people into pits because you're both trying to move at the same time, you can pick up and throw people, etc. It's a troll's paradise.
