Doom and Alien.
My favorite videogame franchise meets my favorite movie franchise.
It works perfectly.

The Alien franchise is my favorite film franchise of all-time. Boomer shooters are my favorite videogames of all-time. Imagine my excitement when I found out there was an Alien boomer shooter!
"Alien Trilogy" is one of the better Alien games out there, and generally somewhat enjoyable, but does fall flat in quite a few places. There are some really cool aspects of the game, including unique features I haven't seen from any other fps games at the time:
-Slower and more horror-like gameplay, making it feel quite different than other similar games like Doom or Duke Nukem
-Timed levels to re-arm your arsenal
-Really useful motion detector (from the films)
The game also looks great and captures the atmosphere of Alien very well for the time.
That being said, there are a lot of issues I had while playing. Saves only being available at the end of levels, often clunky movement, game speed being tied to FPS, incredibly underwhelming boss fights, etc. Would be really cool to see a remaster or port that fixes these, but I wasn't able to find one.

This is the best hunting simulator that has ever existed, by far. For a hunting game, it is perfect in nearly every way. I suppose the low score here is because a lot of people don't like such a realistic simulator, as it is very slow and can be difficult at times.
If you care about graphics, this is perfect for you. Some of the best I've ever seen in a videogame. Good enough that I believe purchasing this game purely to walk and look around is worth it.
Very satisfying and addicting once you get the hang of it. One of those games you can easily rack up hundreds of hours.

This reminds me of how mobile games used to be: no forced ads, gameplay that takes genuine skill and focus (even if it isn't much), interesting mechanics that keep you coming back, and few microtransactions. Although very clearly taken massive inspiration from Archero, it has enough of its own style to stand alone. I come back daily to play the new challenges and have found them a little fun. There isn't much variety though, and I'd rather play any other Doom game, but at least it is decent!

Disgusting looking and clunkier than any game I can think of. It is funny how horrendous this game is, almost funny enough to keep it from being an absolute zero. Overall a dreadful experience, but at least it is short.
I'm going to reference this flaming trash pile for the rest of my life.

One of the toughest games I've ever played.
It is obvious a large amount of effort and passion went into this project, but for the most part, it is next to unplayable. I have a great deal of respect for the developers, though. Some fantastic ideas and some small sections are fun. I'm surprised I got as far as I did.
It seems the best way to deal with the absurd amount of enemies is to get them to group together and then use your explosive power from a distance.
