I love Banjo-Kazooie, I do. Despite it's dated flaws I think it still holds up well and it's a really fun game.

Banjo-Tooie on the other hand is a prime example of how bigger is not always better.
This game has all the same fun makings of Banjo Kazooie, good graphics and fun style, creative level aethstics, quirky music, even funnier dialogue and characters, and some new moves that fix alot of problems from the first game. Ledge grabbing, different types of eggs, being able to aiming eggs, improved swimming, improved main attack, these are welcome new additions. The main issue with Tooie is that it's so fucking big. Traversing through levels is a pain because of how long it takes to get from Point A to Point B, and there is alot of backtracking. One thing I personally hate in video games is when you have to do something in one world to unlock something else in another world. Thematically it's a fun idea, but it sucks because it means you can't just beat everything in one level and then move on to the next. It makes it hard to remember what you collected in an area. They also put a little too many playstyles in this game, it feels a little cluttered. You have a First Person Shooter, a Soccer Minigame, Flying Minigames, Racing segments, Rail Shooting, most of which are all timed missions. Mumbo Jumbo is playable this time but it just feels insanely gimmicky because you can't keep him and you only need him for one or two things in a level. Also WHO'S GENIUS IDEA WAS IT TO MAKE "MINJOS", aka evil Jinjos that look literally identical to regular Jinjos except they're evil and hurt you if you get close to them. There will be moments where a Minjo will be RIGHT NEXT TO A JINJO.
Overall, if you didn't like the first game you are going to hate this game. I had some fun with it but it's definitely rough around the edges. And the sides. And also on the inside too.
