Literally 70% of the people that bought this game didn't get past the 8 hour mark, and only 60% got to the point in which Sorey turns into the Shepherd (the values are based on Steam achievements), so yeah, if you want to play it don't listen to others, they probably didn't finish it. It's not great, but at least it was enjoyable and HOLY FUCK the soundtrack.
