I'm not baiting with this one negative review. It's not cause of EGS or because it's short or anything else really.
It's for 2 major reasons.
It just didn't click that much for me. It's a fairly predictable and telegraphed story. They pretty much tell you exactly what will happen. It's not that deep and there's not much to it. And that's ok cause there are definitely a few moments of exhilaration and some heightened emotion but the game doesn't have much of that. I've played some better games that are similar like ABZU which I definitely liked more and looks much better. Maybe my companions weren't good enough cause the first person was super nice but the others were ok and simply didn't engage much
Secondly, the game ran like ass on PC. It's quite a looker but that's mostly down to style. There's no reason for it to max out my CPU and barely make my GPU sweat. There's no reason for the constant sub-60 dips, the stutters and the weird audio glitches where sound sometimes cuts off at random. For reference, I have a i5-6600, 8GB RAM and a GTX 2070 SUPER and I've played way more taxing and high fidelity games without any issues.
Just buy ABZU. It's practically the same game but prettier with all the cute fishies
