i get the second thing but what do you mean wrt men and women in dp? i havent seen much of the directors cut stuff so idk if that factors into it, im guessing you mean specific things around the ending (i am not a big fan of how the endgame goes generally) but i dont understand how the game would be putting it like that, necessarily

probably remembering the exact spot wrong but im p sure thats more or less a line of dialogue that takes place in yorke's hotel room with Main Blonde Girl

its not that scene, i dont remember atm where he said something like that though its not totally unlike him, he does go "women...theyre crazy" abt that little scar one gave him in the intro. but i think that kind of thing just comes across more as /him/ than what the game really thinks, he calls anyone outside of the investigation he fixates on as "vegetables" and has little consideration for how others would feel about what he says, especially early on. zach is his only friend and that gives a sense that for a long time he never really got to intimately know anyone, let alone women, that would give him more sensitivity and not shut them out. to me the game made clear enough that he only speaks from superficial experiences with women disguised as his "logic" he hides behind at many points. besides his general bizarre personality, its the fact that he keeps a distance from others (like initially in that hotel room scene) that slowly closes the more the game goes on that kept me from just accepting what he says as objective insight into the game's message itself. a few of the best sidequests are abt fixing miscommunications and misunderstandings between couples too, and york getting involved with them (through zach's curiosity and want to know others) provides more context to york's breaking out of his shell in that way.
