I don't think it would matter how much this thing cost. It'd probably still be considered the best deal in gaming.
This game's writing is top-notch and is a reminder of why Valve's games are held in such high regard. Valve has the Midas touch; even a tech demo for the Steam Deck of all things is solid gold.
My only complaint is that I wish it was longer, or that we got Portal 3, but we both know that'll never happen

The importance of Portal in the gaming landscape can be explained in 5 words: The Cake Is A Lie. If you played games, you've probably heard that phrase. And if you've heard that phrase, you've probably played Portal.
Portal is the only game in The Orange Box that wasn't associated with an established Valve IP making its success a testament to its innovative gameplay. My only complaint with Portal is that I wish it lasted longer. But, in its few hours, it crams in far more creativity and depth than most puzzle games that came after it. The Orange Box is considered the be the best deal in gaming. I doubt people would think that were it not for the inclusion of Portal.
