I massively enjoyed this until the last few hours or so - once you have to start exploring dark bramble. The anglerfish made me shit myself, and I have no idea how I would have figured it out without a guide! I also had to check a guide to figure out the final run and the tower of quantum knowledge, although that's definitely a brain issue on my part.

Eventually the constant travelling to get back to where you were on every death and loop gets pretty tedious. I think the game is best when there is little danger of death and lots of stuff to do, as by the end either you are dying quite a lot or taking too long to explore, especially as the route to where you are becomes a lot more involved (ember twin and bits of brittle hollow in particular...), and theres not much else to do to break it up. I also found the ending a little underwhelming.

However, I still have never played anything like it, and I'm glad to have completed it, even if it did push me out of my comfort zone. I thought the way the story was told as fascinating, and many of the mechanics were great too. It's just that I didn't love it as much as most people!
