this is a jrpg with a really inventive and interesting battle system - so naturally fans of the genre typically overlook it
jim cummings makes fun of you while you rip monsters' intestines out of their assholes. it's pretty good
not recommended if you don't like gameplay in your rpgs

Sounds like skill issue ngl, if you have a frame 30/50 and you consistently upgrade your fuel tank then you can easily heal more than twice per battle. Also how are you losing to Urobolus or whatever the real real final boss of xg is even without big Joe parts lol

you lost me at Silver Star, even ignoring the atrocities Working Designs committed, its nothing more than a bland, typical fantasy JRPG with braindead combat and mediocre at best writing, i don't get why its praised in general.
silver star =/= silver star story complete =/= silver star harmony
regardless, if you think working designs did the game a disservice that's where we differ. i think the combat's fun (thanks to wd increasing the stats for enemies and reducing exp gain so it wouldn't be as much of a cakewalk) but above all else the writing is fucking hilarious because wd replaced all the boring ass standard npc dialogue. there's a town of mages that got changed into a town of inbred rednecks for christ sake
if you want a braindead jrpg with bland writing, play lunar silver star harmony - the version that's faithful to the original

Well, i can try giving Silver Star Complete a chance to be more fair regarding the difficulty but I don’t think my opinion would change, I find WD’s humor pretty bad regardless and Silver Star Harmony is more in line with their translation and even keeps a lot of the same jokes, what every localized version of Silver Star is doing is replacing some stale Fantasy dialogue to stale poop fart smelly pop culture humor and honestly neither are worth praising.
silver star harmony is not at all like wd's version. it is the version people who hate wd tell others to play because it uses the original script
