can be fun but doesn't hold up too well on scrutiny. stage 5 is particularly bad. it's short and inexpensive, at least. i had frame skips until i switched the main file in the games steam directory with the directx9 one. this made my initial run through the game a lot more painful.

it's a very short puzzle-solving adventure game, not a yume nikki-like as people seem to assume picking it up going by steam reviews etc. a lot of the puzzle solutions don't really make sense which i guess is to be expected, but maybe i am just bad. i liked it anyhow, it's aesthetically and visually appealing enough to be enjoyable.

cute anime beat'em up, feels like freeware quality though despite the 5 dollar base price. i got 100% in only 2 hours so it's not very long at all.

although it's very simple, if you like cute anime games, or if you find this style of weird, obscure amateur games charming, then it's worth checking out.

cute diversion for a little while, but extremely short (won't take longer than an hour even if you are bad at games like this like i am) and not very intricate or challenging. like many cute diversions on steam, only worth grabbing on sale.

there's no music, by the way. my rating is a little generous because the environments gave me a feeling of zen.

more polished than the ds game and with even better music to boot. i just wish they had been more creative with the aesthetic changes in the sequel levels this time. micro-row only got an electric guitar!!

any jank from the controls is more than made up for by the point after they click where you get to experience the exhilarating feeling of successive high-speed flicks in an upbeat song. every gamer owes it to themselves to play this, and then the entire series

a companion game to the first one. this time all the environments are outdoors. the music still goes unreasonably hard. i don't think either one is particularly better than the other, but because both games are short, being more of the same isn't a problem - if you like one then play the other

great fmv game with a baller soundtrack. the best description i've heard of the music in this game is a youtube comment that said it sounded like a side project by liquid tension experiment. if you heard the music then you could believe this! but actually it's by a guy named Bill King who would later go on to score Michelle Kwan Figure Skating.

anyway this is a good no-nonsense game and a great starter video game for a kid. turn it on, steer to make turns, go fast, do cool stunts, try not to crash. satisfying sound effects when you do well and great environments seen through the eye of a tiny hot wheels car

there's a bit of old game jank - sometimes it's hard to tell whether you'll land flat on the next surface or not, which can be frustrating when you do. i imagine it's also hard to run on a computer these days. those are my only real complaints.

this feels like a game you would play to earn neopoints

it's a cousin of the "brief distraction flash game" with a few points where you might look at and go "oh, that's kind of clever". i recall one BGM near the end being neat. if you play this on steam, you'll 100% it before all the trading cards have dropped. while i don't regret playing this, i got it for free -- if i had paid money for it, it's possible i might.

2013

definition of average; i did not have any particular problems with it while playing it but do not remember anything about it except its aesthetic now. you can immediately understand what it is like from even 5 seconds of gameplay footage. it's cheap on steam, so if it interests you and it's on sale... go for it? i guess?

fun concept; if you enjoy the feeling of discomfort you get when you uncover new unsettling evidence in ace attorney and the music changes then you might like this because that's pretty rapid fire here. i wasn't overly invested in the plot but the caricatures of insufferable college students are incredible!

i would LOVE to waste money on this again to figure out if it actually is that bad or not without having to pay 10000 dollars for a used gamecube game. PLEASE SEGA WHY IS THIS NOT ON STEAM IT ALREADY HAD A PC PORT ARE YOU STUPID

kind of a pointless companion to the real sonic generations? but hey, tropical resort is in it. that's a good song

not a particularly strong game, but cute enough that i remembered it enough to look it up and give it a rating after 15 years. the main theme still plays in my head when i remember chubby snow.

at the time of release the game was like an advent calender and you would unlock wallpapers and such for various upcoming nintendo wii titles as you progressed through the levels. it was part of what got people posting about the game on internet forums at the time, but i imagine this is lost in any recovered versions floating around the net. in essence this game was simple and fun platformer slapped on top of a celebration of 2006 marketing and consumerism, and isn't that what christmas is really all about?

i've heard this contested but personally i vastly prefer this game's visual style over the original - i love the pixel art in the gba kirby titles, and the pixelized painting backgrounds in this game are beautiful. everything looks so vibrant and even surreal at times with the different palettes, especially late game once you reach rainbow resort. THAT SAID what they did to butter building is unforgivable!!! let it spin!!!! i don't know how they managed to screw that up, which is holding this back from a 9/10.

as for kirby's adventure it's already an excellent game with fun levels and memorable environments, so yeah this one is too and probably one of the best starter kirby games for a kid. the gba graphics make the bosses seem more intimidating with their big ol sprites which i appreciate.

who the fuck are rolling turtle and bounder? i don't care about them
