A short, stylish and hardcore FPP slasher. The biggest strength of the game is the overall cyberpunk aesthetic, it's a gorgeous game. The art direction is absolutely fabulous. Combined with its stylish presentation and intuitive combat, it's a hell of an experience. The traversal is on point, mobility is fantastic. This is both during combat and outside of combat, it's just fun to play and especially replaying some levels. The combat system has a lot of flexibility and you can choose a specific style that suits your needs. The music is heart-pumping and complements the game immensely especially in tense moments. The graphics are beautiful and in general, the gameplay has a lot of depth that I can see why people would replay it. Also props to the game designers for giving a proper hard mode, redesigning enemy placement, altering geometry and advanced enemies from level 1. It's not an artificial difficulty like increasing numbers (strengths + health) but an actual difficulty from AI and changing other elements to give a further challenge. Whenever you win a hard encounter it's extremely satisfying. As a whole, this game is quite fair with a few incidences ( one boss in particular). So yeah it's a rewarding game and the more you learn the mechanics the more fun it will be for you.

The cons well would be the story, it's perfectly serviceable. I can't say it's awful but it's nothing that will stand out. I think the most annoying thing is you can't skip cutscenes. They're okay for the first time but in replays, they are a grind. The puzzle sections are kinda a mixed bag, some were good and some were less so. I do understand why they would want to pace the levels in that fashion but the lack of mobility hurts it overall. The last mission was a tad anti-climactic, certain reveals I felt was pretty predictable but I'm not sure if that's the point. Even the gameplay aspect was more frustrating than fun at times.

Beyond all those elements that game was great and a fun time. It's a wonderful experience that is worth giving a shot. There's a demo on Steam that gives you a good feeling (not sure about the console). I would recommend playing it at a high framerate (if you are on pc) as you could, which I played at 1080p 144fps. Precision is key for this type of game as the gameplay can be unforgiving, however, the checkpoints are rather generous which offsets that and instant replays. So yeah overall I would recommend Ghostrunner.

Elden Ring is an excellent game, I've played a decent amount of Fromsoftware titles but never to this extent. So what are the strengths: the music, the weapon variety, the art direction, lore and engaging bosses. The open world was just fantastic to explore, there's always something you can randomly stumble upon which rewards the players who paid attention. This game is not flawless by any means, the reuse of dungeons may be too excessive, but because of its sheer scale, I probably won't replay it. The final boss was quite anticlimactic. There are some tropes in all recent Fromsoftware titles I wish weren't there. As you know every main boss will 2 transformations and a certain design philosophy is implemented in every enemy. I might expand my thoughts later but overall it's well worth the purchase. Though concerning performance there are some odd stutters throughout which is weird. It's mostly a consistent 60fps but you get a random drop out of nowhere. In conclusion, I would recommend playing Elden Ring it definitely deserves Game of the Year.

My favourite PS4 game of all time!
