I grew up playing Doom on a PC in the 90s so you'll excuse me if I think console players are absolutely insane for putting up with these controls

(almost nobody used mouse+kb early on tho, WASD instead of arrow keys was still a novel concept and I think the default mouse controls moved you back and forth with Y-axis movement which was very annoying)
