its like if you combined portal and braid (and sorta fez too?); super fun puzzle mechanic! the overarching plot was fine, honestly did nothing for me, but i enjoyed the puzzles a lot. i honestly enjoyed the art direction a lot too even tho i think the sorta the witness style is overdone. hub words had a lot of character and the level designs for stationary stuff was unique. i sorta wish there had been more so i couldve kept playing it

ps my beloved ascii art filter <3

gameplay loop is whatever, the daniel mullins-ness of it shines with the everything else

a step up in every way possible from stasis and cayne. fixed my problems i had with the other two (no more blown audio or pixel hunting), and then went even further by making one of the most interesting characters ive seen in a long time.

truly unique; incredible visuals and sound. some of the animations are uncanny and i would prefer if charlie did not breath directly into my ear, but these are only very very small complaints. can easily and solidly recommend this game to any fans of point and click horror. i definitely intend to return and play through it again at some point, by far my game of the year

nooo dont access my steam info your so sexy aha

definitely better than cayne, but suffers from some of the same problems

the audio mixing is horrible but i really did like the sound design when it wasnt peaking the volume. puzzles made more sense than cayne even though theres a couple instances of pixel hunting
the story itself is alright, the horrors of [REDACTED] are very real, but it leaves something to be desired at the same time. i dont think the very ending made sense, but i can appreciate a lot of other things about this game. the art also deserves a mention. it is very sanitarium with how gross it feels, which is always a plus to me

its definitely and interesting world, now on to bone totem!

2017

i sorta feel like i got bludgeoned by lore i do not understand all that much, but it was an interesting and free introduction to the stasis universe so im interested to pick those up sometime to see more

<3 esoteric point and click puzzles <3

played in prep for alan wake 2 . high 3.5

first time playing through this and im gonna be real i was set up to believe it was a way shittier game than it actually is. its a perfectly fine xbox live arcade follow up to alan wake ??? it plays the exact same as the og game, the plot is still in line, it actually fixed alans stamina to a degree and introduced new enemies that were different ???

the writing itself is maybe 20% weaker, and i can understand how you might get frustrated with there being a time loop, but the game like............... clearly is written in a way where it acknowledges that time loops are annoying and sets things up for you by the last loop and changes the order of other stuff so you arent doing the same 60000 small tasks over and over again.

its a perfectly fine spin off. obv idk if i could recommend it for non-alan wake or non-remedy fans, but its perfectly alright

ive experienced the joys of fishing and now i cannot go back

fantastically made. it felt like i spent way more time i this game than i really did (in a good way). greatly enjoy fishing mini games and this had enough variation that it was able to support it being the main gameplay loop (to me)
the story was simple but well done too, i liked both endings even though they were very minimal. great art style with a very slow creep of horror

a rare game that once i 100% it i was sad that i wouldnt immediately have more to do in. i hope i will be able to return to it at a later date just for funsies

was aware of this but never played it during the height of my rpgmaker era and i gotta say..................... im pretty neutral towards it. the character art is nice, the story says what it wants and doesnt overstay its welcome. i was always under the impression it had more horror stuff going on but it doesnt and thats fine.

a quick and enjoyable game to bust through in a couple hours but i probably wont think much about it after this

really quick point and click adventure game. really there is not a lot to it at all by way of puzzles OR plot but it is visually appealing at least and free

visual novel + nonogram. i enjoyed it a good bit and was actually pleasantly surprised by the plot. the first case was a little myeh bit it wound up going in directions i didnt expect it to

it is definitely more on the side of visual novel though so i wouldnt suggest playing it if you are looking more for a picross experience. the last case especially is just 15 x15 puzzles with little variation and it got sorta tiring. i wish there was some sort of free play mode moreso than SCOUT's memories.

tldr; very charming visual novel ! wish it had more variation / inclusion of nonograms however

music was rly good, art was rly good (also really liked the photo backgrounds), story is really good once you decipher it a little. very much enjoyed these 3 characters and can relate to each of them in a different way. glad i could finally play it after seeing it on tumblr so long ago

Papers Please but with plants. its missing a little something to push it into being "truely great" territory but it does what it needs to perfectly fine. little to no extra fat to be cut out and i enjoyed it enough i had to force myself to not 100% it in one setting. i even dreamed about it lol
