Played this one for our game club.

I was surprised to find how bold this game is. I like how it trusts its weird little systems to deliver compelling gameplay, from its clever AI to the physics objects that make up a lot of its puzzles. It's really fun and really innovative.

Something that really annoyed me was the lack of subtitles. The sound mixing here is insanely bad sometimes, with melee strikes damn near exploding your ears while NPCs speak in soft whispers. It made it hard to understand exactly what was going on because by the time I realized someone was saying something important they would already be half done with their sentence. The game's excellent visual storytelling makes up for this but, you know, still

I wish I could have played it all the way through, but I stopped about the time the realization that this was less of a 3-hour experience and more of a 12-hour thing. It's good but its quick pacing with set pieces and new objectives and weapons and enemies one after the other kind of made me feel like I wasn't making a lot of progress. I made it halfway through and I'm really glad I played it, even though it's not something I see myself coming back to finish later.
