This is the first season in which I've actually done more than one or two daily rides, and I'm really enjoying it. They require a lot of practice and refinement. The ones with no penalties tend to have a lot of obstacles, but obviously the process is nicely forgiving, so I work to improve during each checkpoint and then move on. Yesterday's ride was super mean, a night race down a path that was blocked off at key places with tricky alternate routes that were difficult to see in the darkness—and naturally the crash penalty was doubled. Because practice and memorization were so essential I felt compelled to go through again a few more times after completion, putting my hard work to use for a better time with fewer crashes and eventually attaining a higher leaderboard ranking than I have bothered to get on previous dailies. It was frustrating but also quite fun to master.

I kind of have a bit of retroactive FOMO now for skipping so many daily rides since they feel like unique content! Great challenges. I might keep this up even after I have all of the seasonal rewards. I am also pleased to find that there are many more days than needed to get those rewards. A long time ago I wrote some criticism about the fact that you can't choose to knock out a whole season in like ten hours of continuous grinding on a Saturday or something after I had sat down to try and do just that at the very end of one, but now that I'm giving it another chance I've softened and find that this structure works just fine after all.

Just wanted to say a few words about an aspect of this already-great game that I had underestimated and makes it even better.

I've played before, and I like it. Started up again because I like the seasonal rewards, so I'm playing the daily rides. I should get back to the normal game progression/challenges, though!
