it was aight. Despite being set in the wide wide ocean things didn't feel as vast as OOT or even MM did somehow. I guess with both the long empty patches of ocean combined with the small islands that dot it makes the world simultaneously feel too big and too small, it's kinda weird ngl. It also felt like some corners were cut in a few places with regards to overall content as this game only has a few dungeons. The late game padding wasn't nearly as bad as I was led to believe, it was honestly totally fine tbh. Aesthetically this game goes hard though, the soundtrack is good and the visuals are extremely stylish, obviously it holds up extremely well today. The characters are also pretty good too, the characterization of link and ganondorf is fresh here and the new characters spruce things up a bit. It still do be a zelda plot at the end of the day though. Overall, it's alright. Def not a favorite in the series or the gamecube library as a whole but I can still see why so many people like this one.
