the horror of being known

characters or games that to me, have the theme that a fatal flaw in that their name/role/legacy is what brings them the most pain

i'd been feeling that kiryu's fatal problem was his title of 'the dragon of dojima' for so long, and wanting him to be freed from it, since y3 or so. whilst i don't think he's entirely free by the end of yakuza 6, the game tackles the ideas of his legacy beautifully, and especially the post credits scene, never fails to leave me deeply melancholic
ex-SOLDIER, cloud refutes, each and every time. alas, he is always a SOLDIER, he cannot escape being a SOLDIER, his eyes show he is a SOLDIER, his body is that of a SOLDIER, his very cells are built to be a SOLDIER
ok........... i actually have only played botw, and this is me just DEEPLY putting my own thoughts on link, zelda, and what the rest of the series will be about..... but god the pressure put on both of them due to their roles in teh world....... immense and painful to me ;w;
i don't even think much about this game but i think many characters have this sort of theme to them and they are my favourites in the game hahah

"Had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong."
