I guess I'm officially old and out of touch. The visuals are hideous, the battles are repetitive, the puzzles are tedious, the writing is pretentious, and the overall tone is condescending. At least the music is nice.

I get why the meaningful choices are attractive to people, but there's really no need for them to be clothed in such unappealing gameplay.
I think the game is trying way too hard to be edgy and meta, or be some commentary on morality, but it's not handled as well as people claim. As you said, the gameplay is also very unappealing. I feel like to really "appreciate" this game you have to play it several times, starting with a genocide or neutral run, but even after half a playthrough I was done with the gameplay and had no desire to keep going, why would I want to replay it. I don't think it will age as well as people think.
