2d Monster Hunter with less to do (and that's not a bad thing). Structure and purchasing scheme aside, this game does a few things right: the inticreates aesthetic has been winnowed down to a tee, there's decent selection of classes/items/doodads to find and the multiplayer makes it feel genuinely exciting to speed run through levels together. The single player experience is lacking, but not exactly a disaster. Keep your expectations in check and there's plenty to like here.
