Honestly, a lot better than I expected. I jumped in and consumed this game very fast. It's not very long, but its addicting in its repetitious mechanics. I loved getting upgrades, and finding gold bolts. The level design and platforming is rarely the most entering thing, and the game is rather easy overall, but there's still a lot to love here in the form of adventuring to varying locales, trying out quirky weapons, and Clank's puzzle sections, which I actually like (kinda Captain Toad-adjacent).

Want to go back to it...Got to chapter 2. optimizing is fun, but i'm always grappling with the feeling that im unsure how much attention i should be paying to each individual development in a run, or when i'm able to just let the game idle without placing new tiles/equipment. it's got a lot of things operating under the hood and reading about the meta, or watching Jorbz/Northerlion break it down in vids has been just as interesting of an experience as playing it firsthand.

Playing on PSNow. Enjoying this as an introduction into side-scrolling shoot-em-ups. Music and graphics are sick, im on level 2 now. Will definitely play more

played on PSNow. Made it to World 1 boss and it introduces an annoying screen shake mechanic on top of the already very-annoying orgasmic moans that accompany every respawn or checkpoint flag. The movement was very limited, too, and i'm not a tremendous fan of all the auto-scroller levels. It feels like a weaker, uglier amalgamation of all the things making super meat boy, n++, geometry dash, and VVVVVV so good.

finished this in a couple of days and had a fun time. the storytelling is more threadbare than most REs, but this has some great action moments, nevertheless. i played on standard, and it mostly plays like a movie, with frequent cutscenes and scripted events, with most of the routing and item management rendered less important because of how much of it they give you. I'm curious to replay it both on Hardcore for the difficult experience, and Adjusted to try completing the game very quickly...also, surprisingly prefer this to RE2 remake, which I never ended up finishing.
