For some reason, I still think back on this (relatively obscure) RTS quite a bit. It certainly didn't have a memorable story. But it had some cool ideas - like training a villager from scratch through a variety of buildings to make them into the unit you want.

Perhaps the most 2020 game of all time, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is heavily flawed in a few key ways, including repeatedly poor user interactions (especially with multiplayer), and less interesting, less diverse villager conversations.

But despite all of that, it still scratches a very specific itch that really only Animal Crossing games attempt to. It will provide many, many hours of entertainment for those that give it a chance. It's just a shame - it could have been so much better.
