a mess of a game systems-wise that doesnt want you to read tutorials, that wants you to pray to the gacha gods that you get someone useful, that is intent on wasting your time.
it also has a beautiful ending, a GOATed score, and consistently manages to walk the tightrope between villains being awful irredeemable shits and understanding why their pain led them down the road it did.

Soul Sacrifice Delta
This has been on my backlog since I got a Vita c. 2015. Its fine. The storytelling and some gameplay mechanics are cool, the monster designs rock...but after a point I found it feeling bad. I couldn't figure out what to do to get better spells, bosses were becoming incredibly tanky even when exploiting elemental weaknesses, and there were a few missions with unfun gimmicks (oh cool a floor that doss constant damage and a boss that refuses to leave this is real difficulty).
It is a shame nothings followed this to tighten it & fix flaws aside from whatever that VR game thats apparently semi-connected.
