City Escape is one of the best opening levels in video game history, the Sonic and Shadow missions are all great fun, and the soundtrack might be the best any Sega game has ever had. Literally every single other thing about Sonic Adventure 2 is awful. The boss fights are terrible, the Tails/Eggman stages are these mindnumbing shoot-em-ups in bland environments, and the Knuckles/Rogue emerald hunting missions are so tedious it’s a wonder anyone ever beat this game. The only reason this game gets 3 stars is because of the Sonic/Shadow stages and the music. Otherwise I’d probably give it a 2.

I actually have a ton of opinions on this game and spoilers: they’re not good. This game fucking sucks. Really, the goddamn worst fucking game I’ve ever played. EVERYTHING about it is bad besides the art style and the character designs and maybe the atheistic of the world.

First off, if we’re ignoring the terrible story and cheap gore with an unnecessary rape scene, the game is just boring. 8 goddamn hours of annoying dialogue that sounds choppy and unnatural and doesn’t add anything to any of the characters personalities, characters that pile up on each other that have zero personality and are as one dimensional as all fuck, a story that feels like a fanfiction where shit just happens, god it’s just the worst. I feel like I’m reading a middle schoolers furry webcomic in 2014 on deviantart.

The mechanics are boring as well. The fights are boring and uninteresting (and before you come at me with “it’s an rpgmaker game!” There we’re PLENTY of rpg games before wadanohara that at least TRIED to be interesting or engaging or made up for it by having an interesting story or music that makes it worthwhile but wadanohara has neither of those.) and you can just skip half the fights with the common enemies (which are super generic and boring) also the music in this game is terrible, I had the game muted the entirety of the play through.

Also the horror in this game is just the fucking worst, it looks like a cursed Pokémon creepypasta id tell all my friends about in elementary school. It’s just shit. I know it’s from 2012 but god it aged like actual horse shit.

If you wanna play an rpg game that’s actually good play Middens, off, space funeral, Lisa, for fucks sake omori is a better horror rpg game than this shit and I don’t even like the game.

The only redeeming quality of this game is the graphics. They’re very good and the character designs are very pretty but that’s not enough to make me like this game at all.
