A shallow and tedious experience. The idea of customizing ships and sending your creations off to battle the high seas sounded like a really fun concept but the issue ends up being that 90% of the game's encounters play exactly the same and offer very few times of variety.

It doesn't help that its very easy to just min-max your ship and your ship is given three seperate load outs that can be switches at any time. This means that they expected you to make one anti-ship, one anti-air, and one anti-sub load out. Theres no sense of experimentation with build types which pretty much defeats what I assumed was the biggest draw of Buccanyar.

The story makes some waves right at the end but the translation is rife with mistakes and errors so I found it very hard to keep engaged. If the translation was a bit better I'd almost recommended it to the morbidly curious.
