fanservice: the videogame
take everything what made 1 beloved and special, then flanderize it to all hell until you're left with nothing but a smooth concoction of things people remember from before and nothing original
doesn't help that it also kinda just feels like shit and the only thing people seem to praise about the game is the bossfights, the levels are shit

Look man I'mma be real with you, fanservice isn't nearly enough to make a game bad
yeah probably but i'm a petty bitch
I also just don't really think the Bloodborne engine and combat style really work in DS, feels like a lot of the statistical RPG shit feels pointless now so every build ends up almost exactly the same
also like even fans agree the game should just have been a boss rush, the levels themselves are really weak

Nah bro the level design is one of its strongest aspects. It's similar to bloodborne in that regard. Individual huge areas connecting within themselves with tons of secrets to find. Sure not every one is a winner but a solid chunk are great, especially in the dlc. The hate for them is pretty underserving tbh.
The combat really does work imo but it just may be that I prefer a faster, smoother combat style. Also the build variety can really work with such an engine(ahem...elden ring)
The fanservice can get pretty annoying and "in your face" at time, I'll admit, but I'll say it works for the theme the game has.

understandable, have a nice day
Very well then yaboyflurry
I don’t think you really understand DS3 and the purpose of its fanservice but you do you
or perhaps I don't want the series to devolve in being unable to let go of DS1 and repeatedly trying to hit the same notes rather than try and be something new and original, at least DS2 did something different and felt more sincere story wise
Yeah the meaning and purpose as to why Dark Souls III does what it does went completely over your head but you do you lol.
