A mod for Sonic the Hedgehog

Amy in Sonic 1 is a modification of Sonic 1 that swaps sonic out with Amy Rose from Sonic CD, bringing with her, her move-set from Sonic Advance. Using Her Piko Piko Hammer she will have to Jump, whirl, and dash through South Island to put a Stop to Robotnik's plans.

Her hop is pretty fun to instantly gain some speed and her vault is super useful to skip sections. Her Hammer is also useful in levels where you need to hit buttons like Marble Zone or Labyrinth Zone. Never been a fan of how there is no roll, meaning she can't pick up momentum but otherwise it's a good rom hack

Amy's Sonic Advance 1 moveset makes for a good fit in the original Sonic the Hedgehog, it may even fit better here than it does in Advance thanks to the more pedestrian level design of Sonic 1.

The lack of a roll and spin jump means it is necessary to change how to approach playing the game, and her hammer attacks and acrobatics work in a way that helps things feel familiar enough for casual play whilst allowing for shortcuts and different ways to deal with badniks and bosses to keep the attention of Sonic veterans.

Fun way to replay 1. Amy's hop and vault from advance are really fun tools for cheesing through the more platform-centric environments. Never liked the exclusion of a proper roll tho, both mechanically and in her characterization. Glad origins plus and superstars are rectifying that.

Considering Sega's fetish for bringing Classic Sonic back, it is odd how they choose to ignore the existence of Classic Amy. Why not bring her back? She's so cute, and the Sonic Advance gameplay style fits perfectly for the Genesis games.
