Uncle Scrooge found a magical necklace on a mysterious island, but the necklace put a curse on him. Now Uncle Scrooge is doomed to float around in the air forever! (Of course Donald always said Scrooge was full of hot air anyway!) To take the curse off Uncle Scrooge, Donald has to take the necklace back to the island. But there's plenty of danger awaiting Donald there. How about lending him a hand?

É bem bonito, é algo que so se veria nos 16 bits rodando em um master system, o level design é interessante, mas, a gameplay é horrivel, o donald é super lento, parece pesado para pular ou se movimentar. Não vale a pena a jogatina.

Deep Duck Trouble Starring Donald Duck es un juego protagonizado por el pato Donald, desarrollado por SEGA y lanzado en la Sega Master System (SMS) y Game Gear (GG) en 1993.

Este juego cambia bastante el gameplay plataformero, ya que ahora no tendemos objetos. Pero para compensar, Donald puede darle una patada a bloques del camino, que saldrán volando y puede hacer varias cosas, desde derrotar enemigos hasta activar interruptores, por ejemplo. Esto recuerda un poco a lo de golpear bloques con el bastón del tío Gilito en Ducktales. Los niveles esta vez son más largos, teniendo algunas dos etapas y casi todos tienen una sección de huida en la que escaparemos de algún peligro (las animaciones del pato Donald en estas secciones son simplemente geniales). En general diseño de niveles me ha gustado más que en el juego anterior, son todos más divertidos de completar.

El apartado sonoro en cambio sigue bastante la línea del anterior juego, es adecuado, pero tampoco destaca demasiado.

El apartado técnico del juego sería excelente de no ser por que sufre de constantes y prolongados bajones. Estas ralentizaciones afectan a toda la lógica del juego, todo de repente de mueve más lento, y ocurre especialmente cada vez que saltamos y la pantalla de desplaza en los ejes horizontal y vertical al mismo tiempo. Hacer scrolling en dos ejes al mismo tiempo es un hito técnico para una consola de 8-bits, eso hay que reconocérselo, pero parece que (al menos en este juego) acaba siendo demasiada carga para el Zilog Z-80 de la SMS.

Deep Duck Trouble Starring Donald Duck es un juego desenfadado, divertido y con un apartado artístico a la altura de Disney. La pega es que sus constantes ralentizaciones pueden afectar de manera negativa al gameplay.

This game was pretty cute! There's lots of really cute little sprite and animation work, like Donald balancing, a shark busting through the background and kicking an ice block onto a narwhal's tusk!

There was some cute little platforming here too--altogether a tidy little fun one!

More sluggish than the other Mickey and/or Donald games I’ve played on 16-bit systems but I can’t hate a game for too long that has Donald do his trademark fighting stance when he gets hit. You know, the “pogo-hop on one leg with your other stretched out and present your dominant hand as a fist in front of you while swinging the other in a hook back and forth.”

Also the ending is genuinely funny.

Better than the MS's prior Lucky Dime Caper but a little less inspired and interesting than the MD Quackshot. Slow and a bit odd with some random difficulty bumps during the Ice and Shrine levels. Performance gets really spotty at times too, often for no reason. Platforming is generally good, with some fun environmental ideas and gimmicks that don't overstay their welcome. The star of the show is the environmental spritework, which has astounding use of contrast and warm hues for Master System standards. It's not very show-stopping from a glance at a screenshot, but having played this on CRT before, the blurring and color distortion really brings out the vibrancy of the world. Donald's character sprites are equally great - they're so expressive and lively, with lots of contextual reactions and cartoonish gestures.

Recommended if you're scraping for neat Master System nuggets, but just average if you're looking to scratch a platformer itch.
