The AI will fail to hit the ball as much as you do in this clumsy Volleyball game.

Passable graphics (even a pretty cool heads or tails screen), but the gameplay is rough even for the time. One to avoid.

Played as part of Atari 50.

There's something really striking about Atari not even being able to competently remake games they've already done well. For this, they really only had to upgrade the visuals of the then decade old RealSports Volleyball slightly and they would've been golden, but they went for a more "realistic" approach to volleyball, in the process making it pretty slow and boring. The main mode of interaction here is just walking to a red box and pressing one of two buttons, with the CPUs playing most of the game anyways. It gets an extra half star for being a handheld game, at the least, given handheld games as a whole were all still pretty terrible at this time, but it's weird that Atari's just doing the same shit they've been doing for a decade but worse, somehow. Pretty decent music, though.

Playing Through My Evercade Collection Part 13: Atari Lynx Collection 1

I mean the graphics are.... somewhat passable for a Lynx. We'll give them that. And only that. Everything else is just clumsy stupidity, from a lack of options, to gameplay that has you consistently face off against the dumbest CPU players known to man, this is a trainwreck. I mean I shouldnt just be able to sit there and watch as the CPU players fumble everything and hand me point after point.

I won by doing nothing as the CPU is complete crap. The cpu will always fail to hit the ball back at you if you're serving and considering the rule of Volley ball is as you get points you get to serve, you're essentially going to be constantly serving. Real Sports Volleyball is way better then is, also the game is false advertising as you play as dudes, the girl in the Bikini is the referee.

Played on Atari 50

RealSports Volleyball in 1982 for the 260p was an admirable attempt at an early volleyball game. It looked pretty good for its time and controls were tight and responsive. This game is none of those things. The character models are blobby potatoes like what Street Fighter 4 would look like in 1993. The controls are loose and imprecise. Do not bother.
