I'll settle for a 1 star rating instead of 0.5 because at least the core tennis gameplay is still... passable, I suppose? But what a letdown overall. Bare bones in terms of content, still heavy on gimmicks that slow the pace of gameplay & just a lackluster experience when compared to its predecessors. Mario Tennis for N64 came out 15 years prior & it blows this game out of the water.
It was my intention to play this game for my marathon (I mean honestly does anyone actually play this game for any other reason than pure obligation?) but because my shitty Wii U disc reader refuses to recognize the completey spotless disc I guess I have to skip it now. I know I'm dodging a bullet here, but honestly I can't help but be a bit dissapointed tbh, if Nintendo was actually good at preserving their games, even the bad ones, I wouldn't have had to skip another game on this marathon like this.
I haven't played much of this game but, it's bland and boring.
You know when a game is bad when your younger self drops it within a week after playing it. (Ultra Smash? More like Ultra Tra-)
Oh god I got this game for Christmas in 2015 and even younger me thought it sucked.
