possibly the best version of majora's mask until the ship of harkanian port is finished

absolutely the fucking way to go if you want to experience majoras mask for the first time with all the new features of the 3DS but still with the restoration of the N64 elements (because that was my first experience with majora and now im biased like this sorry yall)

ok but genuinely zora swim restoration deku physics restoration final bosses restoration FULL controller support (thank GOD) AND d-pad bindings for quick masks transformation and also the song of slowing time is back to ⅓ so i aint got no panic attacks while playing it and so many more little tweaks here and there and ALSO comes included with HD textures for the text (as much as i know i have no idea if they also tweaks the ingame models and heads up for the italian people reading this it works wonderfully with the italian version of the game save some little tweaking as you boot it up but nothing too complicated and since that moment onwards its such a breeze)

FOR ME the definitive version of this masterpiece if you ask me or at least until they make a ship of harkanian harkadian hakr ,,,,, mmmmm whats the spelling ok anyway a PC port of the original version (still havent played the OG one so take this with a grain of salt) and for whoever is tuning in rn to play the game hi hello have a happy trauma :3

I didn't realise this was an entry. Anyways this is the best fucking version of Majora's Mask please play.

So I've been playing the original Majora's Mask directly after playing this and I must say that the mod is incredible, just so many big and small changes that really transform the experience and make it so much more seamless and just plain better. Compared to the original MM's 20 fps MM3D runs at 30 which is real nice and I am a huge fan of the added gyro aiming, I've loved gyro aim ever since I first used it in OoT 3D. But I think the original is still better. For one, while the graphics are a lot less technically impressive, they are way more atmospheric, just a lot more dark when appropriate. There's also something to be said about the lower poly models making you use your imagination more to fill in the blanks. Gyro aim again I love you but man just taking the old challenges and slapping gyro on them makes them a joke. They really should've redesigned aiming challenges for the new aiming style. That's a big thing in general, even tho Project Restoration makes the game harder as it should be as MM3D's difficulty has been nuked from orbit, the original is still much more challenging without ever feeling unfair. Another thing is the notebook, which is extremely important to making optimal use of the 3 day time loop and therefore extremely important to the entire game. It's completely different in the remake: the original simply tells you at what time a person has an event, nothing else, it's up to the player to figure out how to trigger said event. Meanwhile MM3D can't help itself and bombards the player with countless hints so that the actual puzzle portion of these side quests is many times lost entirely. There's also a lot new, added or replaced dialogue in 3D and I find it significantly weaker than the fantastic writing of the base game, going for this weird, quirky tone that just doesn't feel right and feels super forced.

Similar to Ship of Harkinian, this is currently the best way to experience Majora's Mask 3D.

A PC port of the original Majoras's Mask is still in the works, so for now, we have this. Project Restoration aims to restore all of the weird changes that Majora's Mask 3D made to its original counterpart. They have reverted Zora swimming, Deku Link physics, and the bosses back to how they originally were on N64. They have also added a few quality of life changes, like being able to quickly swap masks with the D-Pad.

As for Majora's Mask itself, it is an excellent game. A darker sister game to Ocarina of Time.

Even though there are only four dungeons (which are excellent by the way), the main mechanic of the three-day time cycle more than makes up for it. Learning the schedules of different NPC's and completing side quests to earn masks is where the heart of the game lies.

The story is beautifully melancholic, and the soundtrack reflects that. It's insane how dark the story gets for a Nintendo game, and I love it.

If you have passed up Majora's Mask like I have in the past, please give it an honest chance. You may find something you really enjoy, much like I did.
