Great game overall say for how repetitive it is. Worth playing but the difficulty curve is nuts and the lack of variety in cars, tracks, and songs makes over 200 races in World Xplorer seem like a chore.

Further thoughts on my website. The plug do be shameless sometimes.

One of the more average entries tot he Ridge Racer series, playing more like the PSP counterparts. Overall it looks and plays fine, tracks aren't much to write home about and the soundtrack/presentation I would put firmly in the "it's exactly what you'd expect from a 360/PS3 era game."

criminally underrated entry in the series and imo far stronger and better than 7 personally, love the early 7th gen look where it looks like an HD 6th gen game

Ridge racer 6 is an expansion on the formula set by PSP ridge racer, with the same on-rails cornering and nitrous everyone knows and tolerates. This game has a hella vibin aesthetic with the soundtrack, UI design, and general environmental design being very sleek and vibin. the game has a "cloudy day" kinda vibe to its tracks with muted greys and greens being the primary color of the environment when playing. Sometimes the blur and bloom effect can be a bit much when boosting and the course becomes genuinely hard to see and react to, especially on the nighttime courses. All in all, if you like the PSP ridge racer you can't go wrong with this one either. Absolutely a vibe.

Far better than type 4 in every way

Jump to hd come with I'm sure for the time impressive visuals that I'd argue have lost a lot of character now. Some stages at night look great but generally it's kinda a downgrade from v. Runs at 60 smooth. Lots more variety in track layout although the game makes it feel more tedious given the lame colour palletee. Lots of stuff to unlock, progression is unique with multiple tree choices that are cool and I enjoy the bonus of having heihachi from Tekken be a announced. This was really fine and the first ridge racer I looked up to beat the quickest
