My machines will usher in a new world of light!

Super Adventure Rockman is an interesting little project. It is, effectively, an OVA with some light interactivity and a few rail shooter segments sprinkled in. I tried to play this one myself, I really did. I even tried to install a plugin that translates Japanese text on the fly, and, failing that, I then tried to use Google Lens. Unfortunately, the text here moves too quickly for a translation tool to keep up with, so I had to just resort to watching a playthrough. Anyway, this seems fine! The OVA animation is surprisingly great, and the story goes to darker places than anything seen in a Mega Man game up to this point. Ra Thor, Ra Moon, and the Neo Yellow Devil are all insanely cool antagonists as well. Other than that, though, Super Adventure Rockman is a very mixed bag. Still, Capcom should localize this so I can play it. Where's the Mega Man: Handhelds and Spin-Offs Legacy Collection?

this game is basically all story, so having not been able to experience it in its intended form and context shouldn’t be the biggest deal, hopefully, but i do really think people misjudge and don’t give this game the credit it deserves. the very essence of Mega Man is a sort of tragic fight for justice, a yearn for true peace that can never fully be achieved, and by the fourth game it already had plot twists and kidnappings, so the big deal about how “dark” and “unfitting the series” this game is never made sense to me, especially considering how out of touch the man most people cite for validation, Inafune, is known to be with the series and game industry as a whole. this plot elaborates on the extraterrestrial themes of 3 that would also (later?) be explored with the Stardroids, forces Wily into a reluctant heroic role for the first time if only briefly, and gives a glimpse at what a completely new type of main antagonist to the series could look like, something that takes advantage of the very nature of the trademark robotic characters to threaten the entire globe at once. basically, it’s just rad as hell and i think people need to get over themselves thinking that Classic is exclusively ‘mega man for babies’ or something.

Como um desenho matinal de sábado, é bacaninha. Como um rail shooter, está atrapalhando meu desenho matinal de sábado.

i watched this translated on youtube (fmv game so i dont feel bad) so im just gonna talk about the story
inafune didnt like the fact that someone died in it so i like it enough. its still classic series so they cant make it too insane but whatever it held my interest.

A very neat style of game where you choose your own adventure and fight in first person. The animation is good and makes me wish there was an anime consisting of solely that style. While the game isn't deep or anything mechanically. It is very much worth a try for any Mega Man fan.
