Should have been a part of the base game.

Season is always the best expansion of every sims game, I'm sorry to be boring, but being boring is being right. Summer, autumn, winter, spring, rains and thunderstorms, they are always present in your game, always offering something unique to do, and always making the passage of time more meaningful.

The Sims 3 had a seasonal festival where you could go do different activities depending on the season (snowboard in the winter, eat apples out of a tub in the summer, shit like that) and it had different snow depths. However, I think overall this pack might be better? I'm not sure.

The biggest improvement over previous games is the calendar system. You can now customize every single holiday, delete them, create new ones, move them around, etc. For example, I'm from the southern hemisphere so Christmas is a Winter holiday, so now we have the ability to make our games match our expiriences a lot more. I personally play the game as if I lived in the US because the whole game just gives me the vibe that it's set in the US anyway, and I'm used to their holidays due to their cultural influence. In my sims game I have Valentine's Day and Easter in the Spring, Independence Day in the Summer, Halloween and Thanksgiving in the Autumn, and Christmas and New Year's Eve in the Winter. I'm basic.

There's also some weird "lesser" holidays that I'm not sure if we can deactivate, like "talk like a pirate day". I never pay any attention to them.

One of the most important additions is Santa's bushy beard. It is the best beard in the whole game, and, as someone who makes 95% of his male sims grow facial hair, it's nice to have more options aviable. You bet I had sex with Santa. As to the other new NPC, I haven't even seen the scarecrow that helps you with the garden. I have to remember to place one of those guys in my upcoming supernatural playthrough.

Can't believe you had to buy an expansion for it to rain. Then again, what else is new?

“What an awful Christmas” sorry I was busy making sure I didn’t starve to death
