A huge step up in terms of gameplay. The game is much smoother than the first Assassin’s Creed and its really noticeable in the climbing of buildings. That being said, I was much more interested in the setting of the first Assassin’s Creed game. For some reason I never really connected with Ezio in this game and I’m not sure why he’s considered such a great protagonist. To me it felt like he was just going random places and meeting random people and I never really knew what was going on. I would have liked a clear arc for Ezio aside from revenge and then not wanting revenge which was pretty barebones. The main villain of the game is barely in the game at all. In summary, the gameplay is a good step up but I didn’t care for the characters or the story which is a shame. Not a bad time period though.
