Dearie me. The first game was a bit guff but this thing takes the guff to new extremes. If you're looking for a gibberish non-story, tedious non-scares, obnoxious English children, a big deep gruff voice man, references to horror movies that'll make ye piss yerself laughing and almost non-existent gameplay Layers of Fear 2 is for you. It's so boring you'll chew yer own legs aff just for something to do. The only terrifying thing about this game is that they charge ye money for it.

I loathed this game. It simultaneously repeated itself constantly and yet starts with a reference to an obscure character which is never explained. It is full of movie references that add nothing to the story, as well as the same cheap jumpscares, doors that shut behind you, and areas changing when you turn around that got overdone in the first game. It hurt me to play, and yet I played it all. I couldn't even think of a review funnier than "Credit Rembrandt You Cowards".

Bloober team are also shitty to disabled people and women in the writing, and don't properly warn you about some of the more... tasteless suicide imagery in the game. I got genuinely mad about how poorly it handled this. It is astounding that this team is being trusted with a Silent Hill 2 remake, considering that their core weaknesses are core themes in that game.

It gets half a star because I can flush the toilet repeatedly and the 3d models are quite pretty.

Pelo menos os bichos aqui podem te matar diferente do primeiro jogo

It tried so hard and accomplished so little

I really like the first Layers of Fear, from its theme to its way of showing terror, but this one is much inferior unfortunately.

It could have been an interesting idea for him to be set on a ship, if the story had been a little better done, in addition to having more explanation (it's crazy).

There is also the fact that there are many jumpscares that after seeing them so much you get used to them.

Anyway, just a game that could have been really good.

It gets really boring after a while. The story isn't very interesting. Also, the developers suck, so I would completely avoid this series if I were you.

i think i finished this game LOLOLOLOL

even more forgettable than the original

I had a panic attack at the chase part where you have to shut the door, I dont do well with mannequins :)

Still no fear, just layers. Boat layers this time

Não tão bom quanto o primeiro... Nem cheguei a completar a história. Não achei tão envolvente quanto o outro.

I am very open about how much I don't like this series but I got it for free so why not give it a shot it was slightly better than the first game still not a fan though

I took dozens of screenshots during my play through of this just out of momentary instinct. Afterwards, sifting through them, I realized that like its predecessor, these images meant nothing. They stood for no greater or fulfilling purpose outside of thin, superficial aesthetic. With all its black and white filters, sepia tones, ornate set dressing, and cruise ship surroundings, Bloober Team has the talent to create visually stimulating games, but beyond that surface level appeal it falls dead in the water in literally every other department from its half baked retread in Amnesia/PT-esque gameplay tropes to its banal exploration of "themes". Somehow this rings even more hollow than its predecessor despite its attempt at this surreal profundity, opting for a more slow burn build than the first. While I can take Layers of Fear's constant lame jump scares if only for how they livened the otherwise deadening pacing, the glacial unfolding of plot (and exceedingly overlong length) here only exacerbates Bloober Team's lack of talent in creating suspense and manifesting tension. For something that is otherwise this developer's most creatively ambitious title from what I've played, the lack of focus, tact and originality to back up the thinly striking images they present only continues to expose Bloober Team as a hack exhibitor of empty aesthetics. If something like this is the future of psychological horror gameplay, god help us.

i completed this game, but i dont remember anything from it :D

I didn't find it as scary or atmospheric as the first game but I enjoyed the story more. If you like atmospheric psychological horror and enjoyed the first game then it may be worth a play. Unlike the first game you can change the settings so the monsters can hurt you but I feel this game works better as a psychological walking simulator.

I basically played this game and felt cheated, I somehow got the worst/bad ending on my first play? I even tried following a walkthrough but it was really hard for me to follow along plus I hated the idea of replaying this game, so I'd say it's a meh for me, it is scary and I loved the soundtrack and environment but the first game definitely was friendlier to get the ending.

The worst thing a game can be is bland. This is unsalted oatmeal.

Played it on epic games, I don't know why the entry appears as TBD if it's already released.

I had high hopes for this game, turns out it wasn't really good.

They kept the good things from their previous game, the amazing atmosphere and the beautiful carefuly crafted scenary.

But somehow, they messed up gameplay quite bad, they added your typical horror game puzzle of "pick thing, put there" which I find as fun as doing chores.

Also, for some reason the games runs like shit, and I mean it. I don't know if that has something to do with my GPU being Radeon, but the game couldn't give over 8fps in certain parts, not even in the lowest graphics

its kinda the same of the first game, just a little better

I won this game through SteamGifts.

When I started this second Layers of Fear game I was ready to shit my pants once more, but once I saw that I could play it in "safe mode" I got a little relieved.

The game is kinda less scary than the first game, but still made me jumpy often. there was a lot of symbolism and metaphors for many things and the story was mostly told through notes that you had to read.

I was very happy with the visuals of this game and it made me want to play the game forward. I managed to finish the game in around 30+ hours which is quite long for this game, but I had fun.

I would more recommend the first game than this, but if you happen to get it cheap, then get it!

Same as LOF1. Wanna be deep walking sim with cool visuals but no substance and obnoxious jumpscares.

I liked the horror aspects of this game, really terrifying at times, but the complicated way you get endings... Just fucked it all up for me, I somehow got a bad ending?!? I woulda probably gotten the good ending if I followed a guide but I didn't want to do that for a horror game, maaan.

Tries too hard to be psychological but ended up as just decent atmospheric horror with cheap jumpscares
