I'm pretty sure if I looked for the definition of overrated pretty sure it's just a picture of skylanders trap team sure the roster of new skylanders are pretty good and the doomraider fights are decent (although the damage cap that stops you before the phases are over get really tedious) but the gimmick poorly executed with their being no point of using the boring as fuck villians that are often better when you fight them compared to when you actually play as them and the villains seem even worse by comparison when the skylanders are so much more enjoyable and complex they can't even be used as good support like some argue because their moves disappear when you switch back, tons of glitches, the levels are nothing special compared to the quality of the levels from previous games and superchargers lacking in level gimmicks, not looking as visually stunning as the levels from swap force or superchargers and not utilising elemental abilities like earth skylanders breaking rocks and water skylanders swimming like spyro's adventure had leaving most levels to feel pretty bare bones and boring to me not helped by the previously mentioned glitches and some levels don't even have the decency to have good music with half the levels having generic stock music that doesn't add to the atmosphere at all (although i will say the actual music that is composed by balfe is decent even if it's weaker than the other entries soundtracks bar imaginators but that barely counts),the crappy co-op respawn mechanic that dragged both players back that frustrated both me and my sister, removal of pvp and the amount of figures you need to 100% the game (10 Trap Masters,11 Traps and 4 Adventure Packs) really hold back the game.
The fact that this is the most popular game within the fanbase is extremely disappointing

Skylander Trap Team wasn't the greatest game in the franchise but, I had a great time. I thought capturing villains was a good idea I was kinda expecting more capturing villains in the game, not including the expansion level and, I never really got to play as the other Trap Team Skylanders only 3 and, I thought their move sets were pretty good snapshot was my baby he a level 20 and, food fight and torch were okay I don't remember much of torch but, food fight was good I mostly use Snapshot because I thought he was cool and, stuff so yeah and, the capturing villains were kind of forgettable except for the doom Raider is get the story was okay nothing special also the Nintendo 3DS one there nothing too terribly special so yeah it's a-okay game
History will look back at Toys to Life video games and see it as a weird attempt at preservation of kids playing with toys at a time when they just wanted to play video games.
Spyro was in the first one . Which i guess is cool, but I came into this series later and when I was already an adult, so it didn't really do much for me.
Perhaps gearing up your little toy and seeing them in game was a fun experience, but for it this game showed me that the genre was not for me.
If you grew up with this series and enjoy it still, all power to you. But for me it was very forgettable.

I went into this one not really sure what to expect. I'd heard it was one of the weakest in the series, and also one of the buggies so I was expecting to be polarised, and instead came out... having really enjoyed the experience?
Trap Team feels like a direct improvement to the weaknesses of Swap Force, and it's all the better for it. Levels are whittled down in size to mostly just the right level and each one has fun and varied objectives which keep things feeling fresh from beginning to end. The new gimmick of the game does provide some entertainment, but for the most part can be ignored if you so wish, which I appreciate. While I did encounter a few bugs, nothing gamebreaking occurred so maybe I should count myself lucky?
Still, as always Trap Team is another fun mindless co-op brawler. Nothing mindblowing or GOAT worthy, but one that I enjoyed way more than feared.
