Fall of Cybertron is pretty much an upgrade to War for Cybertron in almost every area. The combat is a lot smoother, the areas are a lot brighter along with better level design, and the different Transformers you play as all feel different with different styles of combat and maneuverability; this greatly reduces the feeling of fatigue War had which I kinda find funny since this game is much longer and never reached the point of fatigue War gave me. The story was the first story in any Transformers media I actually took seriously and was pretty engaged by it, and this is also the first Transformers game where they’ve done the dual campaigns idea and worked it into one campaign near perfectly. I don’t really have much to say about it other than it’s just a really really solid Transformers game. I’m sure if you like the IP you’ll get more out of it then I ever could so yeah. It’s weird I don’t have much else to say this time around.

NOOOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T RELEASE MEDIA BASED ON A KIDS SHOW THAT SHOWS GENUINE LOVE FOR IT AND TAKES IT SERIOUSLY IT HAS TO BE IRONICCCC

hehe big robot dinosaur go stomp

Perhaps I'm being too nice giving it a 5, but when I got to the final chapter and the game was constantly switching between both factions culminating with a Dante Vs. Vergil style sword fight between Optimus and Megatron I made up my mind on what I was gonna give this game.

A genuine improvement to the 1st game in just about every way and one of the standout budget, double-A action games of that era: it stands tall next to kin like Space Marine and Republic Commando.

Campaign was full throttle, varied in each of the 14 chapters; the shooting was more solid and responsive than ever; the weapon variety was exciting; and the soundtrack was basically Doom Lite before Doom 2016.

Now that we're getting Space Marine 2, this has gone straight to the top of the list of Games I Hope Get a Sequel One Day. Goddamn do I hate IP licensing for taking this series away from us and burying it under the shitshows that are Hasbro and Activision.

The trailer for this game with the Puscifer song is the best trailer for a game in history.

If this game was a transformer, it would be from the beast era and it would turn into a GOAT.

Absolute masterclass of Transformers video games. Wish I had played it back when the multiplayer was alive.

We peaked as a society when this game hit up the local gamestop. Where do I even begin. The campaign was amazing with all of its shots and scenery as well as its story being very interesting with a great conclusion. The gunplay is way better than the first game and the game’s art direction was also an upgrade. This was my game ever growing up and I still feel like that to this very fucking day.

Best Transformers story, period. Gameplay's also really fun too.

One of the best 360 games. Was my favourite game of all time before I found P5.

No joke when I bought this from Toys R Us they sold me a copy with some random jazz CD inside. The case was sealed when I bought it so this had to be someone playing a little prank from the warehouse or wherever that copy came from

TRU were the best because they let me come back and get an actual copy of the game but still, how many others out there opened their copy to some random CD?

I recently discovered that this game has an extremely devoted grassroots community who keeps the servers up and running and still fills lobbies to this day and I absolutely love it. The game plays great and it's just fun to look at. Peak tbh

Transformers FoC is the direct follow up to War for Cybertron is a step up in almost every way.

If you liked the first game, it's guaranteed you'll love this. FoC takes the foundations that WfC made and just cranks it up. It's another very well made super fun campaign, but with better story, music, gameplay and everything else. It's just bigger in scope.

A super epic campaign that makes you feel like you're part of the Bay movies (in a good way). Every chapter has a moment that will make you Wow.

Gameplay is pretty much the same, but this time there is a weapons vendor and currency, which makes exploring and killing enemies worth it as you're able to purchase and upgrade more weapons - similar to Ratchet and Clank. This is definitely something the first game was lacking.

My only gripe with this game is that now you're forced to play as one selected Transformer for each chapter, as opposed to having the option to select from 3 like the first game. Probably the only big step back I would say this game has. Otherwise, this game is pretty much perfect and I loved everytt single moment of it.

Again, it has the same shame of locking a major part of the game (escalation mode) behind closed servers like WfC. Which provides an endless way to play the game without having to play the campaign over and over again, and doesn't force you to play as any specific character.

A must play for any Transformers fan. (This and the first game desperately need a remaster - you can't buy this anymore).

This is about as good a tie-in game you could ever hope to have. Improves on just about every single thing from its predecessor

Movement is swift, gunplay feels great, and dear god why haven't more 3rd person shooters let you dynamically change your dominant hand????

You will NOT regret giving this game a shot

you can thank Activision for burying high noon studios

I might be rating this one on a bit of a curve since it’s a licensed game based on a franchise I really love, but this is one of my favorite games of the 7th gen. It’s the kind of Transformers game I’d been dreaming of since I was a kid, putting you into the mechanical shoes of the Autobots and Decepticons during the final days of the civil war that devastated Cybertron.

Fall of Cybertron is the best kind of licensed game, one that is elevated by its license instead of feeling shackled to it. It’s a really solid third-person shooter that shows genuine appreciation for Transformers that takes a bit of a darker approach to its narrative while not going overboard with it. The game does a great job making each character you play as feel different, and any shooter that has dash gets extra kudos from me. With excellent level design, great mission variety, and a fun (now defunct) multiplayer suite, I feel comfortable stating that Fall of Cybertron is the best licensed game ever made.

Behind the scenes, High Moon Studios, this game’s developers, were very resistant to the idea of becoming just another licensed game mill, so perhaps they went so hard on Fall of Cybertron to convince their Activision-Blizzard overlords they were worthy of developing original titles. Unfortunately, High Moon would meet a fate worse than being a licensed game mill: Being forced to become yet another support studio on Call of Duty, joining the likes of Raven Software and Vicarious Visions. Yet another case of Activision-Blizzard being an absolute plague on the gaming industry.

Another one of my all time favorite games. the story was great, the combat was crisp. I really wish they would make a transformers movie that was about this and with the new character designs for the next film it looks like we are taking a step in the right direction.

massive improvement over the first game holy shit

I've played a couple of Transformers games before this one and haven't been very impressed. It came as a bit of a surprise then that this game is pretty good. Part of the Cybertron series, along with War for Cybertron released a few years earlier, Fall of Cybertron tell the story of.... Well actually I'm not really sure. I'm not a Transformers fan and basically had no idea what was going on in the story. It seemed cool though. The game is a 3rd person shooter, a bit Gears of War esque, with some fun driving sections. It's a fairly short campaign, but its done really well. It has that Micheal Bay action movie style feel, with each section feeling like a really nicely set up action sequence. There are some great set pieces, explosions and effects. It's just the type of silly action fun that you would want from a transformers game. What I enjoyed most was the enemy and weapon variety. Even thought the levels were fairly linear, this variety kept me interested with each weapon feeling unique and useful. It also has a decent level of polish that I didn't expect. Of course it's no Halo or Gears, but it's really well made and feels like a AAA title. The music and sound effects, the great visuals, solid controls and nicely set up tutorial and campaign. Apparently the multiplayer was also excellent back in the day too. A nice little surprise package and a short campaign which I enjoyed quite a bit, a great one to have in the collection.

YOUR CITY LIES IN DUST MY FRIEND

This game has one of my all-time favorite finales in any game.

I did not expect this to be this fun.
