The storyline is pretty sloppy.
The alternate weapons are pretty much garbage. No more two-hand sword from the 1st game which I loved.
Environment was cool at the beginning, but then kind of ends up being boring.

I had the Icarus wings in the first game) and the action is on such a huge scale that it's a wonder the PS2 could contain it.
The best out of the original three in every way but especially story and action and less frustrating platforming. Really cannot emphasize that last point enough.

Lembro como se fosse ontem, meu tio chegando pra mim e mostrando um dvd escrito "God of War 2".
O jogo mal tinha sido lançado e ele ja tinha conseguido baixar. Tudo bem que as CGI's estavam com péssima qualidade, mas o jogo estava lindo, perfeitamente feito pra esmagar botões.
Zerei inúmeras vezes.

Tal como comenté en la reseña del anterior, God of War tiene un sistema de pelea que se hace repetitivo y aburrido con el paso de las horas, en este juego se han intensificado la falta de novedades en la jugabilidad y se han recoloreado las habilidades de Kratos aunque no aporten algo muy distinto a la experiencia del primero, en cuanto a historia me ha dejado bastante frío, es un pelín mejor que la del primer juego pero nada del otro mundo, sigue pecando de falta de complejidad y he notado hasta un exceso de puzzles con mecánicas parecidas, otra vez, al primer juego.
Nota final: 3/10 ("Mediocre" en mi escala de puntuación)

I GROW TIRED OF THE LIES OF THE GODS
One of my favorite games of all time. Grandiose, epic. This game showed me how big scales can get in gaming.
This game expands on the first in every aspect. Bigger story, better animations, refined combat and traversal, enhanced world-building and art-style; pretty much a step up everywhere. This game perfectly sets up the third entry, and by the end I was left excited to keep playing.

Better than the first. Actual proper bosses, alternate weapons, etc. Kratos becomes basically irredeemable at this point though no matter what God of War 3 tries to say.
More of the same really. Slightly more streamlined than the 1st, but this still neglects to fix the main issues with this franchise. Even graphically feels of the same quality. I never wanna play a 3rd person actioner where you can't move the camera ever again tbh.

Favorite Part: The entire opening sequence in Rhodes. Really epic and set the tone for the game well.
Least Favorite: Fighting gorgons. They're even worse in this game because there's a variant that can instantly petrify you unless you parry them.

Same thing as the original game. I liked Kratos but I felt the story stalled because it doesn't evolve as the game goes on. You're going to the fates to kill Zeus, and that is it. Anything else in-between is just an obstacle in the way and the game presents it as that. It has improved visuals and a lot more interesting areas and environments to explore that really help, but it still has the problem of every enemy taking a thousand hits to kill. I turned the game onto easy halfway through and had a much better time. I wish there was a difficulty where I took hard mode damage, but the enemies wouldn't take a billion juggling hits to kill every time. Definitely wish I liked this game more, but I can't enjoy it as much as others.

Everything that was great in the previous installment, but bigger, and better. A must-have on this console.
Great story, pacing, combat. I think more frustrating than GOW but that's because I suck at videogames :)
Amazing how this game takes literally every aspect of the first game and makes them better.
