This was a good amount of fun, but I don’t think it quite clicked with me. I had fun role playing as a secret agent/assassin. It let me live out my spy fantasy I had as a kid buying spy toys from the scholastic book fair and joining the EPF in Club Penguin. Once I finished each level though I didn’t feel much incentive to go back. I know there’s a lot of re-playability with different scenarios and challenges to do, but I never really felt compelled to do them. I always though “eh I already killed them I don’t really want to do it again.” Also, there wasn’t a level where I said “hell yeah this is the one bro this shit is fire oh my god.” I have a feeling Hitman 2 might do it for me though based on just the intro New-Zealand level I played. I think the extra level of polish (updated graphics, frame rate, HUD, etc.) and what looks like even better designed levels might push this formula over the top and make it great for me.
A great step forward for the series that ditches linearity and instead creates lively and expansive worlds for players to immerse themselves into and manipulate to achieve the perfect kill. Though it lacks more focus and consistency than other games in the series, its still a great sandbox stealth game that's worth having fun in.
Hitman games are probably best when you are just starting them. I can only imagine how fun it is now to start playing this game in its third release with all of the additional content. However after a while of playing you start to see the repeats in how the game is designed and how the developers generally want you to solve a map.
The best challenges for veteran players are the silent assassin challenges, especially silent assassin, suit only. But once you have done these you probably know enough about the level that nothing else is a surprise anymore.
Regardless I have spent countless hours playing this game and I am looking forward to the roguelite mode that they will be adding soon.

I was originally considering giving this a 5/5 because you get to kill Jared Leto, but not all of the missions are created equal, and, though this first entry ended up having better cutscenes than its follow-up, other features are great here, but still evolving.
Overall, this is one BIG, badass, modern stealth assassination sandbox suite of options, approaches, and ways to generally fool around like an idiot, while watching the life leave people's eyes. I will likely end up considering the WoA trilogy as one game, but, for now, having just beaten Part 1/Season 1/What have you, I'm highly impressed, but still waiting for true stealth perfection.
3.5/5. 7.5/10. C+/B (When it comes to letters, a B feels much more accurate).
Solid as hell game. So many layers.
The “always online” bullshit is bogus, though, and some of the missions are too, which makes it take a bigger hit than normal when there’s only six.

I don't know what Providence is, I don't know what ICA is, I don't know who the Shadow Client is, I don't know what IAGO is. I don't care. What I need to know is if I can use a remote explosive to distract the guard watching over the prisoner, and I need to know that because I want to disguise myself as the prisoner so I can assassinate his interrogator when his back is turned. Oh, that completely works and the game was built with those sorts of interactions in mind? Word.
First time completing an entry in this series and I had an absolute blast. Despite each map always having one or two design choices to gripe about, they're all super replayable and memorable in their own way. Sapienza specifically stands out to me above the rest. I felt like I could stay on that map forever and never want to leave.
