This is just not for me. I didn't really get far into it. I can't say I dislike the concept, I think it's pretty cool, but it's really not winning me over. The controls are pretty damn clunky. Kirby's momentum really feels like it just doesn't cooperate with you at all, and it's a huge pain in the ass to try to get him into the hole. I'm not really sure what the point of lives are for a golf game? Did it really need lives? And does it really need to send you ALL the way back when you run out? I hear the multiplayer is fun, but I don't have the opportunity to try it out.
Kirby but mini golf now, this game honestly feels more like a puzzle game because every stage can be completed with only one stroke, but it's legitimately one of the hardest challenges you can take on, personally it wasn't for me because I prefer my mini golf in the real world but this one is def a good time for people who like mini golf or momentum based puzzle games
It's a good thing that indies have caught up to the fun of putting golf mechanics together with wacky course geometry and abilities. I would like Nintendo to do so and follow their own example. Kirby's Dream Course is still, in my opinion, the best golf game any of their studios has made. The way that it incorporates powers and enemies from Adventure, while rendering them in an isometric style, is timeless. Turn-based multiplayer is still a blast, and the single player has a solid difficulty.
Who comes up with these weird game ideas? Dream Course is a Kirby golf game, where you control Kirby as if he was a golf ball. Game includes all sort of usual golf mechanics like different types of hits, spins and copy abilities... wait, the last one is a Kirby mechanic! In each level, Kirby must hit all enemies and some of them will give him abilities like Ice, which lets him freeze water to avoid falling into water traps.
For a Kirby game, Dream Course is surprisingly hard and just clearing the game takes a ton of patience. There are medals you can obtain for being efficient but I couldn't really bother with that as it demands too much precision.
Overall, it's a fun game.
