It's still fun, but is a little dissapointing. I might be relying on false memories for this, but the joycons feel less responsive than wiimotes did. I feel like I am getting less consistency with curves in bowling. And they could have and should have introduced online modes without the loss of being able to play CPUs locally. And I don't love the elimination style to bowling - just let everyone play 10 frames.
EDIT: I have to update this to reflect how manically obsessed I have become with playing this every weekend to unlock all the cute outfits. I am living vicariously through my Nintendo Switch Sports avatar. She is a style icon.
A perfectly decent retirement home game. It's a polished-up successor to Wii Sports but it trades in the charm of the iconic Wii Sports aesthetic for that of a bland Silicon Valley corporate campus. The few games that they have are pretty fun (especially chambara and the extreme bowling), but there isn't that much replay value beyond obsessively trying to unlock new outfits.

It's a solid title, but it's got its issues.
One is that there should be an offline mode, being online all the time is not a good idea. I would love to take this out with me and do a round of Soccer or Tennis with CPUs.
Another one is that the sports only have a single mode. I would love to play a regular bowling match, instead of elimination. Or a regular Tennis match instead of a tiebreaker mode. Hopefully that's something coming down the line.
Nintendo shouldn't have used a post-launch drip feed approach with this game, but it is what it is. I'm gonna hold onto this and pick it up from time to time after they put up new item sets and sports. But what's already present is pretty good, definitely recommend it if you've played previous Wii Sports titles.
