Started this early in the Closed Beta, probably right after Guan Yu came out. Originally it didn't have Oceanic servers and I had to acclimate to the 300 ping NA servers (which I think I did pretty well). It got easier to lead shots with my mains Anhur and Aphrodite, but at that ping I couldn't even dream of playing melee characters due to my attacks not registering even if I'm literally on them. Since the addition of Oceanic servers I fully invested and played this a lot and got quite good at it. The current state of the game is abysmal though in Australia, not a single queue ever pops so I haven't actually played for over a year at this rate. Every time I remember to try the game out, or a new god comes out that I want to play (miss thing Tiamat my Assyrian zummy) I have to either relearn NA ping or just sit in Jungle practice wasting away. Bring back multi-queueing and maybe Oceanic servers can be utilized but currently the game is just disappointingly unplayable.
For context I put 1,023 hours into this game over the coarse of a decade.
This game has a toxic community, poor balancing, garbage value skin economy and like all MOBAs it brings out the worst in people.
I have fond memories playing this game with friends in the past but I would happily take all that back to have invested this time into any other video game.
The main positive I can say, (and my reason for playing so long) is that the minute to minute combat is very fun and the third person camera angle puts you right in the action.
I don't hate this game but am happy to say I won't play it ever again. The MOBA genre is a flawed but financially successful note in the history of online gaming.
