First of all this is the coolest fucking setting ever, and I can 100% see another studio fumbling the ball. However, monolith soft is the best in the business when it comes to environment design and they knocked it out of the park here. The soundtrack fits this immensely well, the grand themes help to make traversing the huge world a joy. The combat, while not quite as in depth as XBC2, is still pretty unique and fun even if it gets a bit old. The writing is solid, I especially love all the dialogue from your party members, and where the story goes in the final few chapters. The only qualms I have are that the side quests are terrible even by MMO standards and the resolution makes the game look like it's coated in vaseline.

It's Xenoblade Chronicles in HD on the Switch, what else do I need to say? This release improves the UI and adds extra features like a hard mode, the ability to level down I'd you want more of a challenge, and the option to change your party's appearance to any armor piece without needing to equip them is great! My only real criticism towards this game is the Future Connected story expansion. While it does give some much needed closure to Melia's story and has an amazing soundtrack, the changes made to the combat, specifically the removal of Shulk's visions and chain attacks, just don't do it for me. It's still the best and most accessible way to play Xenoblade 1 though, so I'd still highly recommend it.

I'm probably never gonna return to this game, but what I played was decent.

This is literally Xenoblade 1 but better in every way lmao. It's still the weakest of Takahashi's games imo, yet it's still an amazing game.

I don't get the hype. I really tried to like this game but after about 8 hours I still couldn't get into it.

was gifted this game 3 years ago by a good friend and while it took forever for me to beat on the account of how slow the game gets in the open world, it was overall still an great experience and has some of my favorite gameplay in an RPG ever

This straight up is my favorite game. I think that’s a basic take now but damn

Wow. This might just be the most beautiful game I've ever played. Absolutely stunning enviroments that will completely floor you. To think this game originated on the Wii is mindblowing. I held out on getting the Wii version for the longest time and I'm glad I did. The increased graphical fidelity enriches the landscapes to a deeper level. The story is phenomenal and is one of the best stories ever seen by video game standards. Now the gameplay can become a bit mundane with the amount of travelling but it can also be it's greatest strength as it let's you fully take in its environments, it's very much a double edged sword. The combat is mechanically rich but it won't be everyone's cup of tea. I very much enjoyed it but it was by no means the greatest thing ever. Overall a stunning game that's well worth the 100 hours. 9/10

If the end wasnt such a no sense game would be 10/10

Great JRPG with a lot of new ideas and innovative gameplay (for it's time) still solid today.

Switch. I loved XB2. So much that I got this game. I couldnt get into the story, characters, or game play. Didnt like any of it.

First hours were boring story wise, but when the twists happen and everything falls into place it's mind blowing. Side quests were meh at best, combat isn't very engaging and resolution isn't great.

de mis juegos favoritos de todos los tiempos

One of the best stories I’ve seen in a JRPG. Unfortunately, it is held back by combat that can be a bit boring for me

This is the game where Dunban is over there

Really good game, although I didn’t end up seeing it as the masterpiece many others do. Great characters, fantastic music, and a noticeable step up in graphics which helps with a lot of emotional impact for cutscenes.

NOTE: The ranked score is judging this games quality as the best way to play XC1, though this written review is more critical of the game as a remake, in particular its new features.

I find it very hard to express my feelings towards this game because of how I developed my relation to the franchise in the first place. As far as the game goes yes its the best way to play Xenoblade 1 but beyond that I find it hard to praise. Most of the new additions fall rather flat, Future Connected being unfocused, way too short, and just making the combat less fun, while Time Attack just straight up sucks especially after the extremely high standard that was set with XC2s challenge battle. In particular the changes to the music are EXTREMELY hit of miss, for the most part the majority of the songs are better but anything involving vocals feels way off, and notably the vision theme which was already in contention due to interrupting music has had its drop DRASTICALLY changed and, in my opinion, is worse off. Additionally "Expert mode" is a complete joke, merely giving the game the XC2 experience system and making no changes to actual game difficulty, which honestly is fairly well needed since, outside of the endgame superbosses and certain story fights, this game is piss easy.

To cut the game some slack I feel like showing off Alvis's neck piece redesign in the reveal trailer set my expectations way too high as to what the remake would be changing, in addition to a leaked copy of the special edition artbook containing images of Tora which, when paired with the new challenge battle mode, promised the idea of character crossover, like XC2s DLC. Additionally the changes to the UI are absolutely fantastic and the addition of vanity slots is greatly appreciated.

At the end of the day this remake only really offers the easiest, best looking, most polished way to play the original Wii classic, and nothing much more than that. If you played the original on Wii or 3DS and either disliked it or thought it was just OK, this unfortunately isn't going to change your mind.

Favorite Part: Updated graphics/soundtrack. Everything and everyone looks and sounds gorgeous.

Least favorite: Future connected ended up being kind of a disappointment, despite me still enjoying where they took the characters and getting to explore a new area.

literally the best game ever made. only bad thing is that it ends. and sharla

good game but why the fuck this was so long

An amazing game that's a must to play if you're a fan of Jrpgs. The story is great, characters are memorable, music is one of the highlights, you'll love most of the maps, and the foreshadowing is simply amazing.

Honestly wasn't big on the art style change but its grown on me. One of the best RPGS period. Gameplay is a little outdated especially if you only played 2 or 3 but this has the best story out of the trilogy. There's a reason this game was so sought after when it was a Wii exclusive.

i'd rather spend my time with people without media literacy than talking to sweaty dumbfucks that play valorant
