I was at the end when I finally decided to drop this
I can't say I enjoyed this unironically but I don't hate it either, it was engrossing to some point but the gameplay fucking sucks and everything else wasn't interesting at all
I can drop this with my consciousness clear because it got to a point I didn't even care what happened at the end

Alex my beloved

was actually pretty excited for this one, when it came out i did not enjoy it

made me yiik out

A really bad game, much of my complaints have been discussed by others who can articulate it better than me. But if I'm being honest I'd rather have a dozen YIIK's than the standard Freemium cashgrab FPS that seems to spawn every year or so.

THIS IS WRITTEN PRE I.V. OVERHAUL UPDATE
I took my time to think about my rating on YIIK cuz I wanted to see if my opinion would change a week after beating the game and nah...I just get more disappointed.
Whenever I listen to the soundtrack I just remember the game and end up feeling unfulfilled like I have not beaten the game yet, the ending was just THAT empty and unsatisfying I hate it, the game was getting good when I met and got into The Essentia 2000's mind, it was AWESOME the boss fight with Yuzu seeing all the cool characters in her mind, I was really happy and started liking the game but it completely ruined it when in the end game the reveal was it was all a lie Essentia made up all the stuff she told me so she can get her own way of destroying the world or some dumb motive. I don't care enough to try and remember and piece stuff together cuz YIIK is just like that to me, nothingness.
Only characters I like are Claudio, Chondra and Michael and they barely get any meaningful story about them compared to Vella, Rory (i HATE Rory) and Essentia.
I am disappointed with the game but I am confident that the I.V. update will fix most of my issues with the ending, character writing and combat but for now the game just is yiikingly disappointing (It took me over a year to beat by the way)

One of the most sluggish experiences I've had playing a game, battles drag on but the dialogue manages to drag on even longer

yiik is imo an absolute masterpiece of a game. the music is so so amazing i enjoy it every time i open the game or even listen to it while i’m driving it’s one part of the game i love. the characters? i absolutely adore even alex :/ ik alex is a douche and rly doesn’t change at all near the end but there’s smth abt him IG?? every other main character tho i adore they all have a special place in my heart 🫶 the story honestly is a bit eh for me especially how the elevator scene is only mentioned in chapter 1 and never spoken abt or brought up again, but after chapter 1 imo it does get slightly better?? around chapter 4/5 it starts to pick up slightly! the ending as well is one of my favorites i thoroughly enjoyed the main ending especially how the city is just so visually pleasing i LOVED that part so so much. and even the parts before it! the end game area definitely peaked design wise and was so pleasing to look at. i do rly enjoy this game and i’m so so SO excited for IV to come out i can’t wait :3

YIIK IS MY GOD AND I AM THE HUMAN INSTRUMENT OF ITS WILL

Curious about its latest updates

Dogshit boring RPG with the slowest and most tedious battle system ever made and an absolute slog of a main story in which I hate every character. Has some ok ideas and some of the soundtrack is pretty good I guess. Not as bad as Paper Mario Colour Splash.

I mean uhh YIIKino babyyyy amazing game YIIK is SIIK!

Almost good ideas ruined by being handled by incredibly idiotic devs what else can I say

I've never seen so much wasted potential in one game my god. I already knew YIIK was ass from all the video essays, reviews, and memes from the past 2(?) years but somehow I got it into my head that I should try it myself. I did and after 23 hours I have to say that this is faaaaaaaaaar from the worse RPG i've ever played but it still isn't good in any way beyond the visuals and 75% of the music tracks.

Besides the writing being purple as hell and overwrought, the gameplay is undercooked. All of the enemies might as well be the same since only 1 or 3 have any interesting gimmicks to differentiate them from each other, leveling didn't mean shit since it felt like I was barely getting stronger despite ending the game at Level 59 (yes my damage numbers were going up somewhat but either the enemies were growing at the same rate to make it irrelevant or something because I rarely went over 20), fights still went on for too long even though the battle system supposedly got cleaned up in the 1.25 update thanks to the new affinities and them neutering LP Toss (i turned affinities off once i got Vella just to speed things up), Rory is laughably useless its almost sad considering his arc, and overall the game just felt like it needed a couple more years in the oven to even play well.

They're supposedly releasing the 1.5 update in April which looks honestly interesting and the added content looks massive so i'll play it since I already bought this waste of space but I don't recommend anybody else to impulse play this unless they're a fan of hipster cbt.

A cult classic that's legitimately bad for countless reasons explained away in a two hour RunningShine video, but made by "Two Brothers" who eventually got the hint and have worked pretty hard to salvage some of the bad stuff (improving the combat pacing and excess dialogue) and still has 20 hours of legitimate content.

While I never played the Earthbound series, I'm guessing this is the closest to "Mother 3" the West is are gonna get. So drink up.

writing's so comically bad its almost charming. dude wrote a novel instead of a game and it shows in its choice of words for dialogue. Didnt have the misfortune of playing it before the gameplay adjustment, but it seems to have improved. Early fights still feel slow, nobody does damage.

Eu deveria odiar esse jogo, mas eu o amo

Legends say he's still "fixing" the game to this very dayyyyy.....OOOOOOoooOOOOoooO.

This game has so much potential, but it's held back by its basic presentation and slow combat.

Gave it a shot. Didn't wibe with the battle system and even in the short time I played, I found the main character to be insufferable. I had enough of that when I was actually in college, I don't need a game about it.

IT's been 2 years I lost my place I'm restarting.
