Tem tudo que eu esperava de uma demo da valve. É muito bom jogar algo feito com carinho.

Nettes kurzes Spielchen für das Steam Deck, um die Steuerungsmöglichkeiten kennenzulernen.

Taking place in the portal universe and telling a brief, fun story while utilizing a lot of the unique features of the Steam Deck is cool. But comparing it to other launch games that serve as tech demos, it's a bit disappointing that this one has absolutely zero replay value or any actual game attached.

Stuff like Astros Playroom not only serve to show off how cool the PS5 could be if it got games, but it lasts as a legitimate game to think back on and maybe return to once and a while. Then you start thinking of other launch games that are technically tech demos like Luigi's mansion, or the iconic Wii Sports. Mario 64 counts right? Or gee, Half-Life Alyx.

I never thought about any of this while playing, it's truly fine for what it is and was never aiming to be the next Wii Sports or whatever. It's well made and packed with fun little details. But the first game you're meant to play on a brand new console is usually such a huge momentous occasion. It's just that this is a slightly interactive short film. And what's worse I'm not really sure this does a great job showing the extent of how versatile the Steam Deck really is. Woulda been kinda sick for this to be a minigame collection simulating tons of different genres you might not immediately think about running on the Steam Deck. There's certainly more scenarios you'll be using the touch screen outside of scribbling your name down, but that's all this tech demo has to show you on that topic. Nothing's given much focus, but they'll spend half of the 30 minute run time on showing off very standard gun controls. Nice that they highlighted gyro controls at least, that should be a standard option across the industry and anyone saying otherwise is stuck in the early 2010's. Feels a tad creatively bankrupt to be making a console as flexible as the Steam Deck and half your tech demo is -hold left trigger to aim and pull right trigger to shoot-

Perhaps it's a bit silly to really go in an criticize something like this. It's a free lil' bonus thing that I can't say I'm really upset with or anything. But it's really one of the most nothing launch title tech demos out there. Which is tragic 'cuz the Steam Deck itself is by far the best modern console by a longshot. Can't say I really needed this game to show me I could press one of the 4 face buttons to have something happen in-game lol.

a fun tutorial for the steam deck

Supposed to be a tour of the steam deck, but it’s kind of a boring drag. Gotta hit the gate with more energy than this

eh... I was just an intern

Valve Desk Job is a simple and short game
Designed to be a tech demo for Valve's controller
but seriously, what a good game
it's soooooooo funny and even beautiful
Reveals some cool Portal lore stuff
There are some sick references

The gameplay, at least on the Dualshock 4, was very enjoyable and made good use of the controller (more than Sony themselves)

Voice Acting is also very good, which isn't very surprising considering it's Valve

never thought Aperture would invest in that.

(Note: the game is free)

VALVE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MAKE MORE GAMES PLEASE PLEASE PLE-

A fun free 30 minutes of pure Portal comedy, they still got it!

Great short tech demo showing off what the steam deck can do and after finishing it id say it does that well it shows off every button and feature the deck has aswell as being a portal series game which i love if you have a steam deck definitely try this it is also free

As far as console tech demo controller guide etcetera games go this is flawless, however it is still just a tech controls demo at the end of the day

Short and simple and was a nice demo for what the steam deck can do control-wise. Nothing much else about it as it's very short.

Nice and short funny little game, no reason not to play

This game WISHES it was Wii Sports (not really but you get what I mean)

devia ser mais longo (foi o que ela disse)

Little and nice tech demo for the steam deck with all the brilliant writhing of the main portal series, if you are a fan of portal this game is a must and short experience.

Very commendable of valve to give what is basically a tech demo for the steam deck this much personality, but outside of a few good gags, the writing just reminds me of portal in less of a neat callback way and more of a "hey remember that game we made that was really good and funny?" Despite that, I'd be dumb to advise against it especially if you have a steam deck since it's free and about 30 minutes.

This is a perfectly fine tech demo for the Steam Deck. It's very basic, but the writing's cute. Plus, it's completely free and under an hour long, so I can't be too mad at it.

It's a decent tech demo with Valve's special game feel. There isn't much else to say about it. It was nice to see Cave Johnson again.

Why is this 20 minutes and why is it the only Steam Deck Exclusive

Jak VALVe zrobi nową grę, to nie ma chuja we wsi

Played this on PC with a PS4 controller, which is obviously not what the devs intended but I think even if I had a Steam Deck, it wouldn't have improved the experience all that much.

Honestly I didn't really enjoy this game. Like, at all. It literally is just a tech demo for the Steam Deck, and I was expecting a bit more of an actual game to go with it. Turns out it's just a glorified turret shooter that has about 20% gameplay and 80% cutscenes. Also, the comedic writing and voice acting isn't up to par for this franchise, although JK Simmons still kills it as Cave Johnson 11 years after Portal 2's release.

The ONLY reasons I recommend it are because it gives some new lore for the Portal story, it's free, and it's very short (I left it paused on my computer for about 40 minutes so my playtime hours are inflated).

Now that I own a Steam Deck, I've been seeing this app appear in the recommended section nonstop whenever I boot it up. Decided to give it a whirl and had a fun time!

They do a good job going over what the Steam Deck is capable of in terms of functionality, the graphics do a good job showing off the power of the Deck, the writing is funny, and it's over in around a half hour, giving you just enough of a taste of what the Steam Deck brings to the table to make you excited to use it with the rest of your Steam library. If you own a Steam Deck I don't see any reason to not check it out!

Also this taught me how to take screenshots with the Deck this is such vital information I feel reborn.

Cute little tech demo for the Deck, but not much to say about it. I appreciated the alt-universe Aperture setting and the mantis sight gags, but the toilet jokes kinda fell flat for me. Wish GLaDOS was in it at all.

Played on Steam Deck. It was cute

Just got my Steam Deck imported today and this was a great introduction to the hardware.
I liked the humour and it didn't overstay it's welcome.
Would I have preferred something a bit deeper yes of course but for a free title with JK Simmons this is fine.
